The IIFS devotes a significant amount of its resources to developing research reports and analyses of Illinois’ operating and capital budgets. The Institute annually produces a Roadmap paper outlining what should the priorities of the Illinois budget should be, analyzes the governor’s proposed budget, and monitors the General Assembly’s budget negotiations through the enactment of a final spending plan.
