The Civic Federation and the Motorola Solutions Foundation issued a call for nominations this week for the 23rd Annual Motorola Solutions Foundation Excellence in Public Service Award. The award seeks to honor individuals whose exemplary management, leadership, and innovation has led to lasting achievements and more effective government in Illinois.
Individuals eligible for nomination are currently serving as non-elected state or local government officials in Illinois, including department heads and chiefs of staff. Past honorees include City of Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie Andolino, Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services Director Julie Hamos, former City of Chicago First Lady Margaret C. Daley and Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority Trustee Jim Reilly.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 26, 2014. The honoree will be selected by an Advisory Committee this fall and the awards breakfast will be held later this year.
